NEIGHBORHOOD - KOMŠILUK I SUSJEDSTVO

“KOMŠILUK I SUSJEDSTVO” depicts architecturally constrained spaces intertwined with human lives and their destinies. The photographic series depicts an average small community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a region that has witnessed infrastructure destruction, population displacement due to war, their return and reconstruction efforts, followed by years of enthusiasm, and ultimately, a new wave of migrations due to economic challenges and pervasive globalization in the last thirty years.
Such sequences of events have transformed small communities into global entities, scattered from north to south, east to west, yet connected by their shared past. Thus forming a unique 'komšiluk' or 'susjedstvo', which underscores the profound differences in interpretation and experience based on the reader's country of origin, often a poignant reminder of historical and cultural contexts.
